The Brief

Valentis Advisory specialises in advisory services to businesses focusing on the insurance risk and claims management market. Founded by Ian Sutcliffe and Shaun Slack, the company provides clients with strategic expert advice and offers personal support and practical solutions to help businesses achieve their objectives. 

With more than 60 years of combined experience in the insurance, risk, and claims management markets, the team personally leads every single client engagement. This unique approach ensures that Valentis always provides intimate market knowledge to help create insightful propositions and deliver audacious opportunities that would not otherwise exist.

Back in 2018, Valentis approached us with a pressing need for a comprehensive rebrand and an intuitive online presence. Faced with a rapidly evolving market landscape and increasing competition, they recognised the urgency to establish a distinct identity that would resonate with their target audience and reflect their commitment to growth and reliability.

Below, we describe how we achieved this and how a recent web refresh enhanced the site’s visual appeal and showcased Valentis’ refined offerings.

The Approach

Through initial consultations, we delved into Valentis’ core values, unique selling propositions, and long-term goals, gaining invaluable insights into their business ethos and aspirations. From this, we created a tailor-made proposal detailing our deliverables, including branding, social media, and a fully-fledged website. 

Armed with this understanding, our team embarked on a collaborative journey, meticulously crafting a bespoke brand strategy that encapsulated their expertise, trustworthiness, and forward-thinking approach. We posed numerous ideas to Valentis regarding the brand name, some with Latin influences and others as custom creations.

The name “Valentis” came out on top. It means “strong” or “healthy” in English, making it the ideal brand name denoting strength and resilience.

The logo laid the foundation for a distinct brand identity, characterised by sleek design elements, a cool colour palette, and compelling messaging tailored to resonate with existing clients and prospective stakeholders. 

Concurrently, we developed a dynamic website, integrating user-friendly navigation, engaging content, and cutting-edge technology to enhance user experience and drive conversion rates. We ensured the site served as a comprehensive hub, seamlessly guiding visitors through a wealth of invaluable resources. The team section introduces the dedicated professionals behind the scenes, instilling confidence and transparency in their expertise. Furthermore, the site hosts a rich repository of insightful blogs, offering expert perspectives on industry trends, risk management strategies, and regulatory updates.

The Outcome

The result was a transformative brand image and a digital platform that displayed their unparalleled expertise and positioned them as industry leaders, a position they still hold to this day. Valentis has since refined its service offerings and tasked us with visually enhancing the site; this included creating an animated homepage and adding various responsive elements.

After creating the website, Valentis asked us to design additional marketing collateral, such as email signatures, stationery, and proposals. They also allowed us to progress their sub-brands, Valentis ESG and Valentis Transformation, producing logos and associated brand identities.
